Accounts Payable Administrator (AVANCE)

The Accounts Payable Administrator will oversee all functions of the Accounts Payable Department to include updating Accounts Payable Policies, Procedures and forms, monitoring and maintaining Accounts Payable Aging report, reconciling Accounts Payable Module to General Ledger Module, modifying procedures and processes for efficiency and assist with special projects as assigned.

Experience: Minimum of one to two years Accounts payable experience, preferred two to three years Accounts payable experience

Required Education: Associates degree in Accounting or related field or the equivalency of college hours leading to an Associates degree

Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

Child Development Teacher/Parent-Child Educat (AVANCE)

This position is responsible for working with infants and toddlers utilizing specilaized knowledge and skills in order to properly address the physical, cognitive, social and emotional developmental needs of children at Center Based and School Based sites.

Human Resources Administrative Assistant II (AVANCE)

Assist the HR Director in assuring the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of Avance-San Antonio, Inc. employee personnel records and HR related files. Assure the integrity of all aspects of employees benefit administration, worker’s compensation and risk/safety management and enters all personnel related data into the HRIS system. Assists with employee processing, maintenance of position vacancies, benefits and pay inquiries, maintenance and filing of HR related forms and reports, and upkeep of required publications and regulations. Performs all HR Department administrative duties and other special duties as assigned

Experience: One to three years HR related work experience with specific experience in benefits, compensation, safety training and human resource and payroll information systems. Prior work as an HR Assistant or similar position is preferred with three to five years HR experience.

Family Development Worker (San Antonio) (Early Head Start)

The Family Development Worker will be responsible for: 1) providing Early Head Start families with comprehensive family development and adult education services through the development and implementation of an individualized service delivery plan; 2) insure all services  focus on promoting the educational and economic success of the parents that in turn will promote the child’s overall growth and development

Cook (Early Head Start)

This position is responsible for providing nutritious meals and snacks for children enrolled and attending AVANCE's Early Head Start programs to include when attending special events. This position must provide opportunities for the development of positive attitudes toward healthy foods; decision-making, sharing, communicating with others and for the development of muscle control and eye-hand coordination. This position should ensure the food provided emphasizes appropriate eating patterns and mealtime behavior as children observe adult behavior at family style meals.

Experience: One year experience in commercial kitchen or in a public school cafeteria as a cook. Preferred: Three + years experience in commercial kitchen or in a public school cafeteria as a cook.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED; Must have a Food Handler Certificate

Preferred Education: Post secondary courses in culinary or related field, must have a Food Handler Certificate

Health Assistant (Early Head Start)

This position is responsible for supporting the Health Services component for children enrolled in EHS and their families to ensure compliance with Head Start program requirements for health services and assures that basic health needs for all Head Start children are met in a timely manner to include children's physical and dental health needs. Works with staff and parents to acquire documents and/or records of current physicals, immunizations, well-care visits, pre/post-natal care visits for all EHS participant files and ensures accurate and timely data entry of participant information in the Head Start data system.

Experience: Two to three years of work experience in the delivery of community public health/medical/social services or related field.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in a health services related field

Preferred Education: Masters's Degree in a health services related field

Data Entry Clerk (Head Start)

Become knowledgeable of all AVANCE's policies and procedures, and Head Start Performance Standards; will enter children's enrollment applications, family data, and medical record information into Child Plus and other appropriate computer programs.  Works cooperatively with staff to facilitate the accurate coding and entry of information in compliance with program guidelines.  Will keep close communication with staff on status of participants regarding transitions drops and enrollments to ensure accurate Child Plus reporting.  Assist in preparation of weekly , monthly and quarterly reports as required.  Enters in-kind data and provide reports as required.  

Experience: Six (6) months to one-year experience in processing intake in Head Start or other non-profit programs.

Required Education: High School Graduate and some college course work.

Preferred Education: Associates degree in Office Managmement or related Administrative field.

Facilities Maintenance Technician (Head Start)

This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, safety and security of the facilities, materials, equipment and vehicles owned and operated by the Head Start program. 

Experience: At least six months experience working in child care facilities maintenance services and familiar with Facilities Maintenance Safety Rules and Regulations

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED plus training and certifications in appropriate areas of facility maintenance

Teacher Assistant II (Head Start)

The Teacher Assistant II will be assigned to a specific classroom and  is responsible for providing children a safe and developmentally appropriate environment that promotes the child’s cognitive, social/emotional, health and physical development through effective delivery of instruction/activities as directed by the Teacher, and is accordance with Head Start performance Standards and Federal, State, and Local regulations.
