Bus Driver (Expansion) (Early Head Start)

This position is responsible for  transporting families to and from home to Avance centers and special events.  Periodically will involve extended working hours, including evenings and weekends.

Experience: Previous experience in childcare transportation, Care Safety Training, Van Driver Training

Required Education: High School (proof) or GED & Commercial Driver License (CDL)

Preferred Education: N/A

Child Development Teacher (Early Head Start)

This position is responsible for working with infants and toddlers utilizing specialized knowledge and skills in order to properly address the physical, cognitive, social and emotional developmental needs of children. 

MUST submit transcript with application.

Experience: Required: Six months in a licensed childcare facility or in a public/private school early childhood facility unless candidate has completed an early childhood degree where practicum(s) were required. Preferred: Six months working with infants and toddlers in a child development center or home-based program.

Required Education: Minimum Requirement: CDA specific to Infant and Toddlers that is appropriate to the age of the children being served in center-based programs.

Preferred Education: An Associate, Baccalaureate or advanced Degree in Early Childhood Education (Infant and Toddler) or related field with 18 hours in Early Childhood Education.

Cook TX WG (Early Head Start)

This position is responsible for providing nutritious meals and snacks to enrolled children and who attend special events.  This service must provide opportunities for the development of positive attitudes toward healthy foods; for decision-making, sharing, communicating with others; and for the development of muscle control and eye-hand coordination.  The food provided should also emphasize appropriate eating patterns and mealtime behavior when children observe adult behavior at family style meals. Maintains kitchen safety and health standards according to licensing standards, USDA Regulations, and Health Department.  Maintains a positive attitude while performing job duties.


Experience: One year experience in commercial kitchen or in a public school cafeteria as a cook.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED; Must have a Food Handler Certificate.

Preferred Education: Post-secondary courses in related field.

Home Educator (TX WG) (HS Wintergarden)

The Home Educator works with parents to strengthen the family's knowledge of child development, including assisting parents to understand how children grow and learn. To plan and conduct child education activities with the parents which meet the child's intellectual, physical, emotional and social needs. The Home Educator's role is that of a resource for parents and a facilitator for learning in a home-based program. 

Experience: Six months working experience with high-at-risk families in the target or similar area. Preferred: Some experience working with infants and toddlers in a child development center or home-based program.

Required Education: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelors Degree in a related field with at least 18 hours of early childhood development completed.

Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education.
