Bus Driver (San Antonio) (AVANCE)

This position is responsible for  transporting families to and from home to Avance centers, and special events.  Periodically will involve extended working hours, including evenings and weekends.

Administrative Assistant Mental Health & Disa (Early Head Start)

This position is responsible for supporting the Early Head Start Coordinator of Disabilities and Mental Health with various administrative tasks to include data entry, preparation of referrals, notification letters and coordination of appointments to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and AVANCE-San Antonio, Inc. established policies, procedures and goals, as well as any program standards of operation, procedures and applicable laws.

Experience: 1 year experience formal training in business office procedures, office systems, business communications and computer literacy.

Coordinator of Education Services for WG (Early Head Start)

This position is reponsible for planning and coordinating the early childhood education and development services provided in AVANCE's Head Start Program to ensure compliance with the underlying principles and goals of AVANCE, Head Start Performance Standards, program goals and objectives and the needs of the community.  Provide supervision, guidance, training, mentoring, and support to assigned staff and monitor the quality of early childhood education and development services that are provided to toddlers, and their families.

Experience: Required: Four (4) years experience in early childhood education and development services. Work Experience may be substituted by advanced training in Early Childhood Development or related fields. Preferred : Four (4) years experience in an early childhood program serving three and four year old children, or supervising and managing early childhood education and development programs for three and four year old children.

Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.

Preferred Education: Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.

Family Development Worker/Uvalde (Early Head Start)

The Family Development Worker will be responsible for providing Early Head Start families with comprehensive family development and adult education services through the development and implementation of an individualized service plan.  This position will ensure all services focus on promoting the educational and economic success of the parents that will promote the child's overall growth and development.

Experience: One to two years working with at-risk families and experience with case management systems

Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Education or related field

Preferred Education: Masters Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Education or related field

Data Entry Clerk (Head Start)

Become knowledgeable of all AVANCE's policies and procedures, and Head Start Performance Standards; will enter children's enrollment applications, family data, and medical record information into Child Plus and other appropriate computer programs.  Works cooperatively with staff to facilitate the accurate coding and entry of information in compliance with program guidelines.  Will keep close communication with staff on status of participants regarding transitions drops and enrollments to ensure accurate Child Plus reporting.  Assist in preparation of weekly , monthly and quarterly reports as required.  Enters in-kind data and provide reports as required.  

Experience: Six (6) months to one-year experience in processing intake in Head Start or other non-profit programs.

Required Education: High School Graduate and some college course work.

Preferred Education: Associates degree in Office Managmement or related Administrative field.

This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, safety and security of the facilities, materials, equipment and vehicles owned and operated by the Head Start program. 

Experience: At least six months experience working in child care facilities maintenance services and familiar with Facilities Maintenance Safety Rules and Regulations

Preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED plus training and certifications in appropriate areas of facility maintenance
