Accounting Technician (AVANCE)

This position is responsible for supporting the accounting department in accounts receivable, accounts payable and general office duties to include filing, organizing and maintaining accounting files. 

Experience: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.

Child Development Teacher (Parent Child) (AVANCE)

This position is responsible for working with infants and toddlers utilizing specialized knowledge and skills in order to properly address the physical, cognitive, social and emotional developmental needs of children.

Coordinator of Family Support (San Antonio) (AVANCE)

The major responsibilities for this position will be to manage the operations of the family support services component, case management based delivery of services to children and families in the Early Head Start Program through referral, advocacy, and brokering.  Have an understanding of the staff performance in accordance with Early Head Start (EHS) Performance Standards.  To collaborate with community partners in order to provide the highest level of services to children and families, foster the development of a continuum of family centered services, and advocate for a community that shares responsibility for the healthy development of children and families.

Experience: Required:Minimum of three years experience working with an EHS Program; knowledgeable of the Performance Standards and Texas Licensing Standards. Director of Human Resources (AVANCE)

The Director of Human Resources originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes safety, excellence, caring, goal-attainment and retention.  Responsible for the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.  Supervises two human resources employees in an organization with approximately 400 staff.

Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources. Strong generalist background in human resources with specific experience in employee relations, employment law, training and development, performance management systems, human resource planning, compensation, benefits and human resource information systems.

Required Education: BA or BBA in Human Resources, Business Organization Development, or related area from an accredited institution.

Preferred Education: PHR/SPHR Certification

Facilities /Transportation Supervisor (AVANCE)

Conducts maintenance and repair of physical structure and maintenance of grounds, which includes but is not limited to: painting, structural masonry, woodwork, furnishings, general building maintenance and general repairs such as changing light bulbs, touch up painting, installing locks etc.  Assist with the purchase and transporting of foods and supplies for home and center base services.  Ensure that equipment, furniture and play structures are in good condition and make repairs as needed.  Check facilities and out door play areas regularly for damage or other conditions that present hazards to children.

Experience: Minimum of six months experience.

Required Education: High school graduate and some college course work.

Preferred Education: High School Diploma plus training and certifications in appropriate areas of facility maintenance and special drivers training and road safety.

Program Assistant (AVANCE)

This position will provide general office support to ensure daily program activities are achieved efficiently and effectively and in compliance with agency requirements.

Experience: Six (6) months to one-year experience in general office administration support.

Required Education: High School Graduate and some college course work.

Preferred Education: Six months to one-year additional experience in a non-profit program.

Receptionist (AVANCE)

This position will report directly to the MIS/ERSEA Manager, the Receptionist will be responsible for handling and correctly directing all incoming telephone calls, delivering messages promptly and accurately, greeting guests, and assisting with general administrative and maintenance issues around the office.  Fluency in English and Spanish is required, as well as a cheerful and helpful attitude.  The receptionist must be or become knowledgeable about all AVANCE's programs, policies and procedures.

Experience: 6 months to 1-year office experience as a receptionist/file clerk. Experience/working knowledge in word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

Required Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Preferred Education: AVANCE Parent Education Program Graduate.

Bus Driver (Expansion) (Early Head Start)

This position is responsible for  transporting families to and from home to Avance centers, and special events.  Periodically will involve extended working hours, including evenings and weekends.

Experience: Previous experience in childcare transportation, Care Safety Training, Van Driver Training

Bus Monitor/Floater (Early Head Start)

This position is responsible for providing childcare services for children and monitoring and ensuring the safety of the children while onboard the bus, exiting the bus and to their destination point.  The Teacher Assistant is responsible for providing children with a safe learning environment and providing them with child development instruction/activities as directed by the Teacher, Center Director and Education Coordinator.

Experience: Required: One year working with children in a licensed child care facility. Preferred: Two years working with children ages 3-5.

This position is responsible for providing nutritious meals and snacks to enrolled children  and who attend special events. The food provided should also emphasize appropriate eating patterns and mealtime behavior when children observe adult behavior at family style meals.

Experience: Required: One year experience in commercial kitchen or in a public school cafeteria as a cook. Preferred: Three plus years in commercial kitchen or in a public school cafeteria as a cook.
