Bus Driver (Parent Child) (AVANCE)

This position is responsible for  transporting families to and from home to Avance centers, and special events.  Periodically will involve extended working hours, including evenings and weekends.

Experience: Previous experience in childcare transportation, Care Safety Training, Van Driver Training

MIS/ERSEA Manager (AVANCE)

Responsible for managing and overseeing the MIS/ERSEA department for AVANCE-San Antonio's Head Start and Early Head Start Program.  As such will be responsible for implementing and managing the PROMIS reporting system for Head Start/Early Head Start Programs and overseeing the ERSEA component to ensure compliance of all reporting requirements.  Will serve as the contact for PROMIS updates, changes or training from Cleverex. Responsibilities will also include developing a formal PROMIS Training Program Handbook and implementing an ongoing training program to ensure all HS/EHS personnel are trained on the PROMIS system.  The MIS Manager will work closely with Management Personnel in program planning and management to ensure the delivery of quality services.  Responsible for Supervising the ERSEA Coordinator/Program "Assistants and Data Entry staff to ensure accuracy, timeliness of data entry and compliance with program requirements as specified by Federal, State and local regulations and Head Start Standards. 

Experience: One year experience working with databse management systems and familiar with Head Start and Early Head Start Standards

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in the field with at least one year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Management Systems or Computer Technology with one year Supervisory experience preferred.

Assistant Cook TX WG (Early Head Start)

This position is responsible for assisting the Cook in providing nutritious meals and snacks for children enrolled and attending AVANCE's Early Head Start programs and coordinates food services for all EHS special events.  Maintains kitchen safety and health standards according to licensing standards, USDA Regulations, and Health Department.  Maintains a positive attitude while performing job duties.

Basic Job Duties:
Clean, cut, and cook meat, fish, or poultry.  Bake breads, rolls and other pastries.
Cook food according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, or numbers of portions to be served.  Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils and other cooking equipment. Clean and inspect galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.

Experience: One year experience in commercial kitchen or in a public school cafeteria as a cook.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED; Must have a Food Handler Certificate.

Preferred Education: Post-secondary courses in related field; must have a Food Handler Certificate.

Child Development Teacher (Early Head Start)

Coordinator of Education Services TX WG (Early Head Start)

This position is responsible for planning and coordinating the early childhood education and development services provided in AVANCE’s Texas Wintergarden Early Head Start Program to ensure compliance with the underlying principles and goals of AVANCE, Early Head Start Performance Standards, program goals and objectives and the needs of the community.  Provide guidance, training, mentoring and support to assigned staff and monitor the quality of early childhood education and development services that are provided to children.

Experience: Required: Four (4) years experience in early childhood education and development services. Work experience may be substituted by advanced training in Early Childhood Development or related fields.Preferred: Four (4) years experience in a early childhood program serving toddlers, or supervising and managing early childhood education and development programs for toddlers.

Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

Preferred Education: Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

Family Development Worker (San Antonio) (Head Start)

Facilities & Maint. Tech./Driver (HS Wintergarden)

Conducts maintenance and repair of physical structure and maintenance of grounds, which includes but is not limited to: painting, structural masonry, woodwork, furnishings, general building maintenance and general repairs such as changing light bulbs, touch up painting, installing locks etc.  Assist with the purchase and transporting of foods and supplies for home and center base services.  Ensure that equipment, furniture and play structures are in good condition and make repairs as needed.  Check facilities and out door play areas regularly for damage or other conditions that present hazards to children.

Experience: Minnimum of six months experience.

Required Education: High school graduate and some college course work.

Preferred Education: High School Diploma plus training and certifications in appropriate areas of facility maintenance and special drivers training and road safety.

This position is responsible for Case Management services through referral, advocacy, and brokering.  Services will be provided to families in compliance with the underlying principals and goals of AVANCE policy, and Head Start Performance Standards, federal, state, and local regulations.

Experience: Required:1 year working experience with high risk families, and familiar with case management systems.

Required Education: Associates in Social Work or related field

Preferred Education: Bachelors in Social Work with Certification
