Early Head Start Program

AVANCE's Early Head Start provides comprehensive child and family development services for low-income families with infants and toddlers, from 6-weeks to age three. The program offers early, continuous, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services year-round. Its purpose is to enhance children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development to promote school readiness, support parents in fulfilling their parental roles, and help them move toward self-sufficiency. AVANCE-San Antonio serves all children, including those with disabilities, and offers two program options: a Home-based Option and a Center-based Option, with services provided at licensed Child Development Centers.

Head Start Program

AVANCE Head Start provides quality preschool education services to children ages 3–4, primarily within the Harlandale Independent School District. Through a collaboration with the district, students will attend classrooms inside Harlandale ISD. Services are delivered through a comprehensive education model that promotes each child’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development, ensuring they meet school readiness measures and achieve successful Head Start outcomes

Early Head Start  & Head Start

The Early Head Start and Head Start Programs provide education services to families working or enrolled in school and residing within the five rural counties- Edward, Kinney, Real, Uvalde, and Zavala.

The Early Head Start Program provides quality early childhood education services 180 children ages birth to three years old. Services are provided through two program options: 1) a Home Based Option whereby families are visited once a week in their home and group socializations are held twice a month, and 2) a Center Based Option whereby infants and toddlers of working or enrolled parents receive full-time quality early childhood education and care at a licensed childcare facility. Additional services provided include health, nutrition and prenatal care through a case management system.

The Head Start Program provides quality preschool education services to children ages 3-4 years old. Education services promote each child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development to achieve school readiness measures and successful Head Start child outcomes. Additional comprehensive family and community support services provided include health, mental health, parenting, nutrition, early intervention for at-risk or developmentally delayed children and case management system.
